Do you know anyone with a combo van?!

Quite inevitably my flight home got cancelled. So, there were 2 options to get home from Lanzarote. Firstly, to wait until the next dayand fly into Gatwick. Secondly, to fly that night and land in Birmingham.  We weighed the options, and the airline could guarantee that if we went to Birmingham we would get there that night. The trouble with trying to go to Gatwick the next day was that there was no guarantee that it would be open. So, 200 Euros later tom and I flew into Birmingham, landing at 1am (it was a good choice- flights got cancelled the next day too). Luckily, there were a few others in our little boat, all needing to be in Gatwick. Happily, a persuasive man holding a little baby girl got an off duty coach driver to take us to Gatwick, by driving through the night and snow, for a little bit of extra Christmas cash. Therefore, our little boat could set sail.Well done that man!

My first ride after coming back was Christmas day. Turns out that on Christmas day I’m an idiot magnet. I got hit by a car last Christmas day and this year was nearly the same story. I was on a little lane happily pedalling when a couple of guys in a little combo van swerved across the road really violently laughing hysterically. I guess they were trying to frighten me. Idiots. It’s fair to say I seriously cracked it at them. They then proceeded to turn round and drive back down to shout at me a little. When they arrived at my side screeching to a stop and revving the engine, I left nothing unsaid. In between expletives, I did explain that the road was still icy as hell, and it was easily the most dangerous thing that they could have probably ever done.Like, they were seriously close and on the ice and if they were 5 metres faster they would have got me and I would not be typing this now.The worst thing by a mile though, was them acting hard-done-by because I cracked it at them. So, idiot combo van men, if you worked out who I am – I bloody want an apology!

Happy Christmas, New Year, and drive safe - please don’t try and kill me. I’m not the biggest fan of that game. I’ll let you know it too!
